In Memory of
Arlyne Louise (Hazen) Bauer

September 19, 1936 - February 27, 2008

Arlyne was born on September 19, 1936 in Woodsville, NH, to Carroll and Pearl Hazen. In her early childhood, the family moved from Vermont to Connecticut where Arlyne would grow to adulthood. It was in Connecticut that she met, then married her husband, Richard Bauer, on June 12, 1955. In April of 1959 their family grew with the arrival of a son, Paul. Two more children further expanded their family: Stephen in October of 1959 and Rosemary in October of 1976.
On their honeymoon, Arlyne and Richard established some lifestyle patterns that would characterize their life together: Traveling by the least expensive means possible to remote and wild places, then hiking to observe and photograph the beauties of nature. Arlyne was also an avid gardener, church florist, church organist, friend to everyone, and mother to the world. After a long and courageous fight with cancer, she fell asleep in Jesus on February 27, 2008, having graced us with her presence for 71 years and 5 months.
