TAKE
5 STATION BRANDING ID
We made a whimsical
3D character out of the clapboard element of WNEM's Take 5 show logo and
placed him on the show's set and had him shake hands with one of the show's
anchors. The live plate used here does not have any reference for
anchor, Brian Wood, to interact with, thus he is shaking hands with nothing
during the shoot. The 3D character was then positioned on a stand-in
chair object that recieves its shadow. A stand-in table and floor
were also created to recieve shadows from the other logo object elements.
The final rendering was done in a single pass in Lightwave 5.6.

SPORTS
STATION BRANDING ID
In
like manner as above, we took the now well-recognized "helmet dudes" from
the Gridiron Madness open and had them interact
with WNEM's sports anchor, Art Niel. Again, he had no references
to look at or respond to during the shoot, only voice coaching as to what
the 3D characters WOULD be doing. Shadows were caught by simple
flat planes in Lightwave and like above, this animation was rendered in
a signle pass.
